Sky Hamlet
Build a town across five floating islands, from streets and homes to markets, workshops and airship tickets, then glide over it in a paper glider.
Sky Hamlet is a town builder on floating islands. You lay streets, zone homes, markets and workshops beside them, and bring power and water; the lots grow on their own. An airship carries the town to four more islands, and a paper glider flies you over it.
The goal
Grow one town across all five islands. Each island anchors when the town reaches its number of people, and the airship reaches it only with a ticket of its class. A card at the top always names the one thing the town needs next.
How a town grows
- You start on Meadow Rock with one street, 600 funds and a 10% tax.
- A street costs 5 funds. Homes cost 20 a lot, Markets and Workshops 30. A lot is zoned only beside a street; drag a zone along the street and it fills the free lots on both sides.
- A lot grows only with power and water. A Windmill (80 funds) powers every lot up to 4 lots away and a Rain catcher (60) waters every lot up to 4 lots away. A grown lot left without either for 20 seconds loses a level.
- Homes grow three storeys, for 5, 12 and 20 people. The third storey needs a School (200 funds, up to 5 lots away) and a Park (40, up to 3 lots away), and homes near a park grow faster.
- Markets and Workshops grow two levels. A Market gives 6 jobs, then 14; a Workshop 8, then 18.
- Homes are wanted while there are more jobs than people, Workshops while people are without work, and Markets while there are more shoppers (two in five people) than shop jobs. The three marks on the town bar show what the town wants.
- One second is one step of the town. The clock button plays it at normal speed, three times as fast, or paused.

Funds and tax
- People with a job pay the funds: at 10%, every 100 working people pay 60 funds a minute.
- Set the tax from 5% to 15% in Budget. Each point above 10% slows growth by an eighth and each point below speeds it by an eighth. Budget shows the funds a minute, the growth, who works and the goods made and sold.
Shops and goods
Each Market sells one kind of goods, chosen when you zone it, and each island's Workshops make that island's goods: 4 a level. A shop grows a level only while 3 of its goods are spare across the islands you can reach.
| Shop | Sells | Made on |
|---|---|---|
| General store | Grain | Meadow Rock |
| Grocer | Fruit | Orchard Ledge |
| Carpenter | Timber | Waterfall Isle |
| Tailor | Cloth | Kite Ridge |
| Chandler | Spice | Cloud Harbour |
The islands and the airship
| Island | Anchors at | Ticket |
|---|---|---|
| Meadow Rock | The start | None |
| Orchard Ledge | 150 people | Deck |
| Waterfall Isle | 1,100 people | Cabin |
| Kite Ridge | 1,500 people | Cabin |
| Cloud Harbour | 1,850 people | First class |
- Deck is held from the start. A Cabin ticket costs 3,000 funds once the town has 900 people; First class costs 8,000 funds at 1,750 people.
- Travel lists every island and ticket. Go takes you to an island; tapping an anchored island in the sky does too.
The glider
- Travel, then Fly: a paper glider swoops down the main street of the island you are on.
- Hands off, it holds just above the rooftops. Climb takes it higher; the stick pulled down dives it to street height. It never flies through a roof, and far out over the sky it turns for home.
- Land, Esc or the back button lands it on the island you left.
Controls
- Phone or tablet, building: one finger paints the piece you hold (a zone, a street or a building); two fingers pan and pinch to zoom.
- Mouse, building: the left button paints, the right or middle button pans, the wheel zooms.
- Phone or tablet, gliding: the stick, bottom left, steers; Climb is bottom right and Land above it. A touch elsewhere does nothing.
- Mouse, gliding: press anywhere and drag the way to steer. Keyboard: the arrow keys or WASD steer, Space climbs, Esc lands.
- The gear, top right, holds sound, reduced motion and a new town. The town stops while the tab is hidden.
Tacs and papers
- The town pays a Tac for every 10 levels its lots grow.
- Awards pay Tacs once: the first home grown 5; 100 people 5, 500 10, 1,000 15, 2,000 20; each island anchored 10; a Cabin ticket 10; First class 20; all five shop kinds open 15.
- Tacs anchor an island before its number of people: Orchard Ledge 30, Waterfall Isle 60, Kite Ridge 120, Cloud Harbour 200. They open a ticket before its number of people (Cabin 60, First class 120), and the ticket still costs its funds. Tacs never buy funds.
- Papers are the glider's and change nothing in flight. Beech is free; Sky blue, Sunflower and Rose stripe cost 40 Tacs, Mint check and Lilac stars 60, and Gold leaf is earned by a town of 2,000. Buy and fit them in the Wardrobe.
The town, your Tacs and papers are kept on your device. A new town keeps your Tacs.
